"Exactly," Devon said. "That puts you here now, not someone else. Especially not me. See? They'll figure you figured out you could be tracked by it and ditched it. But that you were actually in a train station when you called the hotel to cancel means you aren't in Ashland with me. K?" He tapped the roof of the car with his finger tip as he made his points, moving it back and forth between points that must have been Ashland, Redding and LA.
Devon shot him a dirty look for the bathroom remark and strode off in his lanky stride, arms swinging freely at his sides as he looked both ways before crossing the driveway and never once looking back a Rave.

"aaah I ge' it. I'm slow.. bu' I ge' it"
He said and gripped the phone tighter in his hand after waving it around for a bit. Devon was seriously into this and in some way, Rave couldn't help but wonder if he actually liked planning things like this, it surely seemed like it.
Rave smirked at the look Devon gave him and felt rather smart for dropping that comment on him even if it was a small victory. After Devon locked the car he headed off to find the lost and found place at the station.
It took a little while before he found it and after he'd explained a few things and that he'd seen some guy dropping it before the train left.
"Didn't catch 'im in time to give it back bu' maybe 'e calls yoah or somethin'.."
He said and handed it in to the man who stood there, thanking him for being so considerate as to handing it in rather than stealing it.
Rave just smiled and rolled his eyes somewhat after he turned around again and went out to the tracks just to walk out and around the house since the guy probably watched him. If he'd gone out the other way it would be hard to guess if he'd actually taken the train or not so he'd leave them hanging.
About 15 minutes later he was heading back to the car, task was done and the trap was set. He was now phone-less but rather that than anything else.
"okay... wha's next?"
He asked and rubbed his hands together while approaching the car.

"Home." Devon said simply, starting the car. "My feet hurt, I have a killer headache, and I need more sleep." As he pulled out of the parking lot he snarled a bit. "Shit, all the sheets are in the wash, and all the towels too. OK, a mall, and then home. We need more sheets and towels. And a phone for you."
He pulled over. "Actually, you drive. I'll sleep. Stay on the right side of the road and just stay on the I-5 north til you see the Medford exit or a Fred Myers or a Target if you pass one." He got out and rounded the car. "I never made that list," He mumbled as he set the seat back as far as it could go to stretch out and flung an arm over his eyes.
In very short order he was sleeping, his free hand in his lap and sometimes twitching as he dreamed.

Rave nodded. Home sounded good, as did sleep. He was really tired after the night's ordeal to say the least. He was however smart enough to write down the directions Devon blurted out. Good thing Rave had his pad and pen in his back pocket.
He didn't complain what so ever when Devon wanted to sleep, he understood him completely but so far Rave was running on a bit of stress as well as excitement on this entire ordeal.
Rave took his black leather coat off and sat down behind the wheel and looked down on the automatic stick before getting comfortable and turned the key and slowly rolled off the parkinglot.
Lucky for him he had done quite a bit of driving in the states before he came to hadley since he had insisted on driving himself if he was to go to an institute, not to mention it was the only option to get him there willingly and without kicking and screaming.
"Doesn't mattah.. I have some of it down alreadeh"
He said quietly even though he heard Devon's breathes evening out already. At a red light he reached for the coat and placed it over Devon's form to let him sleep a bit more comfortable while he drove them back home.
Funny enough it didn't seem to take that long to get home as it had taken to get away, but that was always the case wasn't it? When you had 'fun' time passed more quickly than when you were on your way from it.
Rave sighed somewhat and made a right turn and got onto the Medford Exit. By now dusk showed somewhat by a slightly pinkish color on the sky but since it was still summer, it didn't set just yet and Rave turned and drove off the lane and stopped at a store he saw.
He thought about leaving Devon sleeping, he really did look beat so, he left him sleeping in the car for now. He got out and closed the door carefully and made sure to lock him in. Devon could still get out if he woke up but at least people couldn't get in.
Rave went in and bought whatever he had on the list he'd started back home and a bit more that he'd be sure he needed, every thing he bought, he wrote down on the list and crossed it over since Devon'd want to know what he'd gotten anyway. The phone and a TV would have to wait though since he couldn't stand on any papers.
About forty minutes later he returned to the car and opened the trunk and packed groceries and what not, into it. Once done with that he got back into the car and sat down, nudging Devon awake.
"Yo.. sleapy'ead.. time to wake up. I can't go buy a phone or a tv on my own, I need yoah now. Everythin' else is done"
He said, speaking with a low voice while Devon slowly woke up, still with Rave's coat over him as a blanket.

"Mmph?" Devon mumbled and sat up. "Right." He said squinting outside. "Medford? Right." Still a bit fuzzy he pushed the jacket off. "Target? 'K."
He yawned and opened the car door, fell back a bit when the seat belt halted him, undid it and got out to stretch. "I feel better now." He stated in general. "I'll drive back the rest of the way, after we get this done."
"Everythin' else is done"
"We don't need a TV, there's one inside the cabinet." Devon said, rubbing some sleep grit from his eye. "And you don't need papers for a phone, either. Come on then." He arched again to get the kinks out of his back and headed towards the store.
The store was the size of three football fields inside, bright red and white decor and it's own food court and arcade nestled behind what looked like fifty cash register lanes, only four of which were open.
"I hope you got the right sized sheets. Did you get flannel?" Rave shook his head. "Kay, well, then they can be for your bed. I don't like cotton sheets much." He got his bearings and headed for the electronics section of the store. He walked down the lanes and looked through the cell phones in the cases. "Hey, can you get us one of these Sprint Prepaid Blackberries?" He called out to a red vested clerk. "We'll need a thousand minute card and a car charger too." He told the pimple faced guy.
He snagged a candy bar along with everything else and back in the car munched on it as he assembled the phone and plugged it in to the lighter outlet. "Give me your pen and paper a moment," He said, reading through the paperwork.
He dialed the Sprint number, punched in a few codes and the zip code, waited, turned the blackberry on, and hung up. "Didn't need it after all. When you get a text message, it'll be your new number. Turn the phone off and on again afterwords and you'll be set up. When you run out of minutes, just buy a new card." He said tossing the pad and pen back to Rave.
"The only way they can trace that phone is if you pay for minutes on-line or you call someone who gives them the number. Even then, you can just change phones again. It's untraceable." He turned on the car and pulled out, looking up and down the street for a few moments to get his bearings he took left. Just as they were pulling into their parking lot twenty minutes later the phone chirped with his new number.

"No? No papers fo' the phone? We need tha' in England. tch... talk about ripoff fo' us brits eh.."
He said and payed the phone in cash of course. It seemed that Devon just wanted to go home. Even though he said he felt better Rave could tell something was up but he wouldn't say anything for now since Devon seemed to want his space.
He watched Devon flip some stuff on the phone and he was just amazed on how he did it and how fast. And how the hell did he know he wanted a Blackberry?
Rave smirked and shook his head somewhat at the entire ordeal but said nothing about it. He caught the phone when it was tossed to him and mused with holding it as the cord dangled from the charger.
"Okay then"
"Won't pay online then, gotcha"
He said and grinned lightly. Everything was set and everything was bought that they needed except for Stuff for Rave's room but that could come later. After all, Devon said it would be okay to sleep beside him another night.
Rave didn't say much and just let Devon have his go on it. At least he'd gotten all what was needed for the house. Rave sat silent in the car and let his friend drive home.
He picked his phone up again when it chirped and got the number and gave it to Devon instantly just before they got out of the car and unpacked and ran up and down the stairs a few times until everything was up and inside the apartment.
"phew... tha' was a work out, wasn't it?"
Rave grinned and slumped down in the couch for a breather.
"want me to check yoah feet fo' yoah? Dunn want yoah to hu't moah than yoah 'ave to"

"Yeah, was just going to check on that." Devon admitted. Climbing up three flights of stairs with glass in your feet was no barrel of fun. He flopped down on the couch and kicked off his shoes and then peeled off his socks, which a bit of an ordeal since his feet had seeped into the socks and stuck to them. Peeling them off also peeled off the scabs.
"Not too bad," He said. The largest chuck was just below his heel, so when he walked it didn't really bother him that much, and he'd pulled the glass out the night before. Or, technically, this morning since they'd had their little to do around 3 am. "I think if I soak them the little stuff will come out."
He ran a finger over his sore spots. "Why don't I take a bath and you make the bed, but I'm going to need some of those towels..."

Rave leaned in and checked on Devon's cuts as well and made a mine. That just seemed to hurt and he'd been walking on that the entire day!
"Yeah, yoah do tha' an' I'll unpack this load of junk an' do the bed."
He said with a grin and patted Devon's shoulder and agreed with the fact he should take a bath. He rose from the couch and went over to one of the bags.
"not to worreh, I knew yoahd' say tha' and I got a new set of towels tha' doesn't need dryin' befoah yoah can use 'em"
He said and tossed a new large towel at him before he walked into the kitchen with two other bags that needed unpacking first since they were groceries.
Rave heard Devon scamper off to the shower and instantly started to fix some food. After all they had been out and about for a good while. When he was done with that, he took the tray out to the table by the couch and placed it all there so the table was set before he went on to do the bed.
Since the flannel ones for double sized beds were out, he'd grabbed the next best thing, satin. He made the bed with black satin sheets but with regular stuff for the rest and made the bed neatly even though they needed to drop to bed pretty soon anyway.
He changed to his other pair of sweat pants and a T-shirt that was a bit more loose around his form before he went back to one of the bags in the kitchen. He walked back to the living room and placed it by the left side of the couch which seemed to be Devon's favorite spot then walked over to the cabinet and opened it to reveal the TV and the DVD set inside.
"Yo, Dev! Yoah done yet or 'ave yoah fallen asleep in there?!"
He called out while he sat down in the coach.

"Damn." Devon said. "Still no hamper." He let the bathtub fill and put his clothes on the toilet seat lid. He made the water as hot as he could stand it and sunk in. It burned at first but then sank into his bones and started to relax him.
He drifted off, dreaming fragmented dreams of Amy, Rave, being chased, and men in trench-coats standing in the alley.
"Yo, Dev! Yoah done yet or 'ave yoah fallen asleep in there?!"
With a snort he realized the water had grown tepid and he was all wrinkled. "Yeah, whatever...why, you late for something?" He called back as he climbed out. Wrapping the towel around his waist he headed to the bedroom and saw the bed was made. Seeing no reason to change clothes he just slipped back on what he'd been wearing and came out to the living room after toweling off.
"What's all this?"

Rave watched Dev walk out from the Bathroom in a towel only to return from the bedroom with the clothes he'd been wearing previously.
He sat on the couch with his right arm resting on the armrest and his left up on the back of the couch while waiting for his friend to return to the livingroom. When Devon asked him what "all this" was Rave just gave him a look and a quirk of a brow.
"Wha' does it look like? .. Tacos!"
He grinned then nodded to the paper bag on the side of the couch on the opposite side from Rave, the favorite spot for Devon to sit on. Meaning for Dev to go there and check it since it was basically a little present for the guy and completely out of the blue as well.
"Check the bag"
He said. In there would be three hitchcock DVD movies, one of them he knew Devon had seen before but the other two he wasn't so sure of even though he'd probably seen them all once or twice but that had never stopped him before so why would it now? Rave remembered a few nights when they both lay awake and just babbled about random stuff, including movies and what they both liked and Devon had mentioned hitchcock and for some reason Rave had just remembered it from that moment on.
Personally he was more of an action guy but he didn't mind documentaries or other things either. He basically ate it all as long as it wasn't a load of mushy romancy shit that you could throw up on all together.
"I thought we'd need to just chill fo' a while aftah this days ...uh.. 'adventures' .. don't yoah think?"
He asked and motioned for Devon to come and sit by him in the couch.
"yoah pick"
He said even before Devon had seen what was in the back but let the rest be unsaid until he saw the movies.

"This was really nice of you, Rave. Thanks." He looked at the discs and tossed "North by Northeast" to the other boy as he sat down. "I did fall asleep, actually...I guess I'm still worn out and now my schedules going to be fucked up." He picked up the greasy taco and bit into it. Still hot..and good.
"Good." He mumbled around the mouthful. "Hot."
He had grave misgivings over Rave continuing to spend money that didn't belong to him. But he wasn't going to bring it up. After all, maybe it wasn't that money...maybe Rave had other money other than what he stole.
He'd rather be mellow right now anyway, and enjoy the moment than bring up anything else. 48 hours of angst couldn't be good for anyone. No wonder he was beat.

"I just thought, as I said.. tha' we need some relaxin'"
He said and caught the movie when Devon tossed it to him. He looked it over and ripped the plastic off of it while raising from the couch and walked over to the DVD to flop it in there.
Once the DVD closed, he took the remote and flicked to the right channel on the TV and hit play on the DVD remote while he went over and sat back down on the couch.
He placed the remotes between them on the table just before grabbing his own taco and bit into it and grinned. This was really good and a guys movie night well, it felt like it was what they needed for now.
"mmh.. it is. An' fo' yoah info'mation.. no, I didn't spend tha' money... I know yoah' thinkin' abou' tha'. I still 'ave my own bank account tha' I can use. Took money out befoah I went to yoah."
He said. It was the truth but he hadn't taken that much money out and for now, he wouldn't touch the 10 thousand dollars he'd taken from his dad either. Devon'd made him think about giving them back and now he couldn't really chose what he'd do with them.
He'd placed them in an envelope earlier but they still rested in the cover for his guitars in the fodder but that wasn't something he'd tell Devon about, no, that was something only he'd know about.
He still had cover for what he had used of the money though. Even if he used a hundred bucks from that, he'd still be able to pay it back with what he had on his bank account and what was good, was the fact that he was now legal and there was nothing his father could do to get the money back that he and his mother had been putting into all the kids' accounts ever since the day they were born. -- Quite a bit of money but that was beside the point.
The point with taking the 10K was to get his dad's attention and say "no, you can't sit on me or make me play dead just because you hope to whip me to silence". Richard Hamilton would know that he didn't get a dog for a son, no... he'd raised a wild animal and it was all thanks to him.
For now however, Rave was calm and felt a bit better than earlier that morning and it seemed that Devon did the same. He leaned over and grabbed the coke and uncapped it and poured some into his glass with ice then did the same with Devon's and placed it back on the floor by the table before picking up what was left of his taco while watching the movie.
